About
Gabriel Schwake is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Art & Culture, History, and Antiquity. Gabriel is a trained architect and urban planner, and he obtained his PhD from TU Delft in 2020. He is the author of Dwelling on the Green Line: privatize and rule in Israel/Palestine (Cambridge University Press, 2022) and a series of articles focusing on the influences of neoliberalism, nationalism, conflicts, and identities on the process of spatial production. Gabriel has previously been an assistant professor at the University of Sheffield, and he has taught and conducted research stays at different universities, including the University of Cambridge, TU Delft, the Groningen Architecture Academy, and Istituto Universitario Olandese Di Storia Dell'Arte, in Florence, where he was a Visiting Professor. Since 2025, Gabriel has been a member of the Amsterdam Young Academy (AYA).
